Doombunny is immediately recognizable and absolutely unique. From the first note you hear, you know that you are listening to something utterly new, yet familiar. Their influnences are diverse, as evidenced by their sound: Led Zeppelin, The Cure, Pink Floyd, Violens, Rock Kills Kid and more. They've been described as "Old Indie meets New Indie" and this suits the band well. The experience of seeing them live cannot be missed; once they start playing they build a magnificent wall of sound that reminds your ears exactly what rock music should be like.
Doombunny was founded in 2008 by musicians Kelly Bridgers, Chuck Morton, Leon Monroe, and Mondo. They recorded several singles at Overdub Lane in Durham with award winning engineer John Plymale, who has also worked with Squirrel Nut Zippers, Superchunk, The Meat Puppets and many more. They've shared the stage with The Holy Ghost Tent Revival, Demon Beat, Iamdynamite, just to name a few.
As of 2011, the line-up of Doombunny has changed and grown. Monroe left the group, and new members CJ Hoke and Zack Hargett joined to expand the band's sound and push it further up the evolutionary ladder than ever before. This new manifestation of the group is poised to take the world by storm.
